The Turicum Golf Club did not begin with a golf course, a clubhouse, or even a plan — it began with a golf clothing brand.

In 2021, Timothy launched a small golf clothing label called Eagle is a Birdie to challenge the outdated stereotypes surrounding the sport. Golf has a long tradition, with the modern game emerging in Scotland in the 15th century. Since then, the game has evolved considerably, particularly by becoming more accessible to newcomers. Even so, certain misconceptions remain deeply rooted in society, as almost any golfer can confirm after speaking with non-golfers. This is precisely where Eagle is a Birdie sought to make a difference: using cool clothing to challenge stereotypes and share the joy of golf with golfers and non-golfers alike. Unfortunately, the brand eventually had to be discontinued when Timothy realised that running a one-person business alongside a full-time job and family life was difficult to sustain.

Nevertheless, something positive emerged from the experience: a Ryder Cup-inspired tournament, now known as the TIGR CUP, which laid the foundation for the creation of the Turicum Golf Club. Through the regular organisation and continuous improvement of the tournament, Timothy, Carlo, Fabio and Joshua eventually decided to give their growing golf community an official home.

The TGC is not your typical golf club: we have no course of our own and no rigid dress codes. Our club brings together passionate golfers from all walks of life with the aim of promoting and sharing the joy of the game. We believe that golf is far more than a pastime for older gentlemen: it is challenging, exciting and, above all, a fantastic way to spend time in good company.

We may not be heading for the PGA Tour anytime soon, but we have all the more fun playing the game. And if the occasional shank does not bother you, you're in the right place.
